Cruise up the Klein River on the African Queen.
The source of the Klein River starts in the Hemel en Aarde Valley in Hermanus on the farm called Diep Gat. It flows all the way behind the Klein River Mountains, turns near Caledon, flows through the rich Akkedisberg Pass, into Stanford and 15 km later joins the lagoon of Hermanus where it eventually reaches the sea.
The Klein River features more than 127 kinds of birds as well as a variety of salt and fresh water fish, including bass. Otter's, terrapins and various other indigineous animals are also found here. Address: African Queen River Cruises, Located on the Klein River, Stanford, Western Cape. Opening hours: Our season runs from 1 September until 31 May, each year. We operate seven days a week for the duration of this period. Three trips a day, departing at 10h00; 14h00 and 18h00.
If we go to Hermanus, not sure how far away this is but might be nice.
